The Honeycombs

The Honeycombs were a beat group from north London, formed in 1963 and signed to Pye Records after an audition with producer Joe Meek. They stood out partly because their drummer, Honey Lantree, was a woman, which was rare for groups of that era. Their debut single 'Have I the Right?' went to number one in the UK in 1964, but they struggled to repeat that success and disbanded by 1967.
